a recipe for you: spiced apple hot toddy.

this recipe is from the most recent issue of readymade & it looks amazing.
like december in a mug.
ingredients:
1 baked apple
1.5 oz brandy
2 tsp. sugar
3 oz. boiling water
nutmeg

1. to make the baked apple, peel, quarter, and core an apple. dust apple quarters lightly with ground cinnamon and allspice. wrap each quarter separately in foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

2. combine brandy, apple, and sugar in a hot mug. muddle apple (or mash it with a spoon), add boiling water, and stir until pulp dissolves. lightly grate nutmeg on top.

i love ornaments.. but my apartment is too small and i'm too broke for a traditional christmas tree.

etsy update.

just added some new items to my little shop!

a recipe for you: no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.

here is an easy no-bake recipe for amazingly tasty cookies, perfect for holiday get-togethers and last minute gifts.

ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 stick butter
4 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 cup oats
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1. measure out all ingredients first.

2. mix the first 4 ingredients and boil for exactly 3 minutes.

3. remove mixture from heat. add peanut butter, oats and vanilla.

4. drop dollops of the mixture onto wax paper and let cool.

5. fill festive bags, tins, jars and share with loved ones.

handmade success.

dispite the steady 30 degree weather, my first craft fair was a big success!

a recipe for you: easy sweet potato casserole.

it's almost here! the day of good eats.
and so, here is a super easy recipe for my ma's sweet potato casserole..

ingredients for casserole:
3 cups mashed sweet potatoes (6 or 7 whole)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla

ingredients for topping:
3/4 stick butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 brown sugar
3/4 cup crushed cornflakes

1. combine all the casserole ingredients and mix well.

2. pour the mixture into a square baking dish and bake at 325 for 25 minutes.

3. for the topping, melt butter and brown sugar together and pour on top of the freshly baked potatoes, sprinkle nuts and cornflakes on top and bake another 10 minutes.
